If you can buy a two flat that would be great. Here in Chicago, people rent out rooms. That is what i am told. Especially students/ good luck
The best property is the cheapest one you can buy. At the biggest discount from its true value. That is the one you can sell for a profit.
Go for a house if you can afford it.
You will live to regret your decision to have roommates, but that is part of being young. You get to make mistakes..
You should first know what you want. Then think what are your needs. A house is a good property and has a good resale value. But, you should determine if it will be good for your budget. And another thing as much as possible avoid timeshare properties. Because this kind of properties are hard to resell. But still no worries I have heard of good company that are professional on resale of timeshares. This guys will help you sell your unwanted timeshare property.
